MOSCOW: Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has termed Israel’s barbaric strike on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza an open war crime, adding the ultimate accountability for this action lies with Washington, local media reported on Wednesday.
Moscow Calls Gaza Hospital Airstrike War Crime
Over more than 500 people were martyred in an Israeli brutal airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on Tuesday, health officials said.
In a statement via social media, Dmitry Medvedev said, “The terrible attack on a hospital in the Gaza is evidently a war crime,”. He said that the responsibility for this act lies with those who negatively make money from conflicts in different nations and on different regions. Who inconsiderately distributes huge amounts of money for arms?
The health ministry in the Gaza Strip confirmed that at least 500 innocent Palestinian civilians, including women and children, have been martyred in a brutal Israeli airstrike on al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.
The hospital, a place of refuge for thousands seeking medical treatment and shelter amidst relentless Israeli bombardment, targeting commercial buildings, schools, homes and civilian residences, was hit in what Gaza’s Hamas government described as a “war crime.”
The hospital, which was also sheltering people forcibly displaced from their homes due to Israeli airstrikes, was reduced to rubble. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the head of pediatrics at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, condemned the attack, calling it “unconscionable.” He emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to stop the targeting of hospitals and civilians in Gaza.
