Morocco announces three days of national mourning

RABAT: Morocco proclaimed three days of national mourning on Saturday following a catastrophic earthquake overnight. The dead toll jumped to 2,012 early Sunday, according to an interior ministry statement.

Morocco and France have established crisis and support centres with French Embassy in Morocco and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs’ crisis and support department in Paris.

They have been made to respond to French residents’ requests for information or assistance.

The dead toll from the Moroccan earthquake has risen to 2,012 individuals, Moroccan state TV said early Sunday, citing an interior ministry statement.

The number of injured has risen to 2,059, with 1,404 persons in serious condition, according to the report.3days
