Mongolia, Uzbekistan Pledge Joint Initiatives for Sustainable Development at COP28

DUBAI: President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan convened on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit during the United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP28 in Dubai.

The meeting showcased President Khurelsukh’s eagerness to enhance friendly relations, foster cooperation, and fortify political dialogue and people-to-people connections with Uzbekistan.

During the discussions, both leaders, representing landlocked developing countries, reaffirmed their commitment to sharing developmental experiences and pledged to advance collaboration in pivotal sectors such as tourism, agriculture, light industry, transport, and logistics.

The Presidents laid the groundwork for joint projects and programs in agriculture and light industry, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive Program for the Development of Trade and Economic Cooperation between Mongolia and Uzbekistan in the near future.

The mutual commitment extended to cooperation on regional and international platforms, reflecting a shared vision for addressing global challenges. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended an invitation to President Khurelsukh, urging him to visit Uzbekistan at his convenience, further solidifying the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
