NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy of leveraging accusations against Pakistan to bolster domestic support and gain electoral advantages has once again come under public scrutiny.
According to Indian media reports, on September 16, a clash between Indian forces and terrorists in the Uri sector of Baramulla reportedly resulted in the deaths of several officers and soldiers. Earlier, on September 12, news of a similar operation by Indian forces in Anantnag also emerged.
Indian media reported that the term “false flag operation” has been applied to describe these events, alleging that India aims to achieve multiple objectives through such actions. Among these objectives is diverting international attention away from ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by implicating Pakistan in acts of terrorism.
Observers have noted that, in the lead-up to the Indian elections, the Modi government appears willing to sacrifice its own citizens and military personnel to pursue its political agenda. According to international media reports, multiple evidences, including reports and audiovisual materials from international media sources, suggest that Indian forces may be advancing political ambitions by promoting terrorism along the Line of Control.
Modi Has History of Creating War Hysteria
Critics argue that Modi has a history of creating war hysteria through the orchestration of false encounters and the dissemination of fabricated news. Additionally, Indian media sources have highlighted the government’s efforts to undermine the ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control.
In response to growing unrest in Rajouri and Anantnag, the Indian government has been accused of attempting to divert attention from its internal issues by laying blame on Pakistan. A recent incident in which five Indian soldiers were killed in the Rajouri sector of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been characterized as Modi’s unsuccessful endeavor to exploit the situation for political gain.
Critics further contend that India has continuously violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control to perpetuate a state of war.
Contrary to the narrative presented by the Indian government, evidence in the form of images and videos suggests that the situation in the affected areas of Occupied Kashmir is relatively calm. The overarching purpose of this alleged drama, critics argue, is to furnish a pretext for breaching the ceasefire and fostering hostility against Pakistan.
