ISLAMABAD: Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, the Vice Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), on Thursday, said that the Modi regime was hell-bent on imposing its Hindutva agenda on the people of India illegally-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said in a statement issued in Srinagar, “The ban on Juma and Eid congregations, forcing Muslims to chant Hindu slogans, stopping people from offering prayers and locking of the grand mosque in Srinagar and other historical mosques clearly showing Kashmir’s Safronisation is the ultimate goal of the present Indian regime.”
“Kashmiris have been denied all basic rights promised in the United Nations human rights charter, to which India is also a signatory,” he declared. He continued, “Tyrant Modi is the contemporary Yazeed (Devil), and Kashmiris, Imam Hussain’s followers, will fight oppression until the last drop of their blood.”
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar lamented the Indian government’s hypocrisy, saying, “On the one hand, India has deployed thousands of additional troops for the security of the Amarnath Yatrees, and on the other hand, Kashmiris are not allowed to offer prayers or carry out other religious rites.” He claimed that although Kashmiris have traditionally helped ‘yatrees’ accomplish their religious rites and are not against yatra, the Modi government uses this pilgrimage to further its political goals in the occupied area.
He claimed that the Modi government is bringing an increasing number of Hindus to the region to instill a sense of superiority and scare Kashmiris.
Due to the significant presence of Indian forces, the lengthening of the yatra and enormous gatherings are causing environmental hazards and anxiety and panic among the populace.
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar lamented that besides depriving Kashmiri Muslims of their right to practice their religion, some Islamic academics had been imprisoned for speaking out against cultural invasion and aggression. He said, “India has turned Kashmir into Karbala, and Kashmiris are experiencing the worst repression.”
He stated, “The Kashmiri people are being killed, arrested, tortured, and have destroyed their homes because they call for the fundamental right to self-determination. India is using colonial war tactics to silence their voice.”
He remarked, “It is a lesson of Karbala that truth prevails, and falsehood vanishes, and no matter how mighty and powerful tyrants are, they have to face defeat and humiliation.”
He then paid glowing respect to the martyrs of Karbala. Imam Hussain’s (RA) disciples and his companions would choose martyrdom over enslavement. Gulam Ahmed Gulzar promised to carry out the martyrs’ mission at all costs. —APP
