SRINAGAR: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Sunday lambasted the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government for depriving the Kashmiris of their democratic rights.
Ghulam Ahmad Mir, while addressing party workers in the Islamabad district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), said that the territory must get its elected government without any further delay to end bureaucratic rule.
He said that people in the valley are confronted with tremendous hardships, and there is no accountability in the administration of the territory. No one is ready to hear or address public problems. Instead, the government is trying to satisfy people only with hollow promises and tall claims about prosperity and development, which are nowhere to be seen.
He urged the relevant authorities to respect the aspirations of the Kashmiris and restore the statehood and democratic process in IIOJK.
DFP’s Students’ Wing Pastes Posters in Kashmir
Moreover, the students’ wing of the Democratic Freedom Party in IIOJK has said in a statement that Kashmir is a disputed territory that is illegally occupied by India.
It said that the Kashmiri people are struggling for their right to self-determination and they will continue their fight until the goal is achieved.
The students’ wing has also pasted posters in Srinagar and other parts of the IIOJK, on which the message of illegally incarcerated All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s (APHC) senior leader and party chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah is written for the Kashmiri people.
The message says the Kashmiri people have made a history of extraordinary sacrifices in the struggle for the right to self-determination, and their sacrifices would surely bring positive results. And it is the responsibility of the Kashmiri youth to protect these sacrifices in every way.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah has made it clear in his message that unless the Kashmir problem is resolved according to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir, sustainable peace cannot be established in South Asia.
