ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that Pakistan’s missile and nuclear capabilities make its defence impenetrable.
He made these remarks while addressing the Azadi Cultural Show to mark the country’s 78th Independence Day and victory in operation Mark-e-Haq against India in May, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
Dar emphasised that Pakistan was founded in the name of Islam and will remain on the world map until the end of time. Highlighting the country’s potential and resilience, he expressed confidence that Pakistan would secure its rightful place among the nations of the world.
He praised the bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces, claiming they delivered a decisive defeat to India during the month of May.
Reflecting on recent diplomatic achievements, Dar noted Pakistan’s election to the United Nations Security Council and its successful hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit as key milestones over the past year and a half.
Also speaking at the event, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal underscored Pakistan’s progress in modern technology and higher education. He noted that 250 universities across the country are providing quality education to the nation’s youth, and said Pakistan is steadily advancing on the path to development.
The event featured patriotic musical performances by artists from across the country, along with cultural displays by students and children, which were among the highlights of the evening.
Earlier in a message on the day Dar said, “We also celebrate the triumph of Marka-e-Haq, where Pakistan excelled on both military and diplomatic fronts. Our principled and robust response to India’s unlawful actions secured a moral and political victory, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to protect our security.”
He said through military preparedness, diplomatic finesse, and national unity, ‘we have demonstrated our resolve to safeguard sovereignty while upholding global peace.’ Dar noted the Kashmir cause remains just, the rights of the Kashmiri people inalienable, and Pakistan’s support for their struggle unshakable until justice prevails.
