ISLAMABAD: Mishal Hussein Malik, a prominent human rights activist and the wife of Yasin Malik, a senior leader in Kashmir, urged international community intervention to address the ongoing crisis in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In her interview with a private news channel, she said that world must urge India to lift the harsh military siege and reverse the unilateral actions taken on August 5, 2019.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with a private news channel, Mishal emphasized that the Kashmiri people’s aspirations for freedom cannot be stifled. She highlighted the urgent need for the international community to step in and support the resolution of the Kashmir issue based on United Nations resolutions, as this is essential for regional peace.

Kashmiri People’s Opposition to India

Mishal Malik passionately shared that Kashmiris worldwide are expressing their unwavering opposition to India’s occupation of their homeland. She appealed to the international community to stand with the Kashmiri cause and contribute to a just and honorable resolution of the matter.

She emphasized that the issue of Kashmir has transcended beyond a political dispute; it has become an indomitable ideology deeply ingrained in the collective consciousness. Mishal underlined the resilience of the Kashmiri people, asserting that no force, regardless of its power, can erase this cause from the global narrative.

Mishal Malik pointed out the Modi regime’s attempts to divert attention from the core issue by disseminating misleading information and projecting a distorted sense of normalcy in Kashmir. However, she emphasized that the ground realities are far from the projected narrative. Over the past four years, the region has witnessed a concerning erosion of its socio-political, religious, and cultural identity, indicating a disturbing trend of assimilation.
