Ministerial Meeting Held in New York to Discuss ME Peace Process

NEW YORK:  Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has co-chaired the ministerial meeting to discuss efforts to revive the peace process in the Middle East on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Shoukry and the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell attended the meeting.

Representatives from nearly 70 countries and global organizations attended the meeting.

The discussions were aimed at developing mechanisms for collective efforts to advance the Middle East peace process.

Participants also discussed setting up political, economic, and humanitarian task forces to inspect tangible measures and incentives to promote the revival of the Arab Peace Process.
