SHAHJOY, AFGHANISTAN: One child was killed and three others injured as a mine supposedly left over from the past wars went off in Afghanistan’s southern Zabul province, said a statement by provincial police office released on Saturday.
An unexploded mine, left over from the past wars, Friday exploded in Sarkhogan area of Shahjoy district, killing one child and injuring three others, said the statement. A group of children from nomad tribes was playing next to a tractor in a field when they found a toy-like device and started playing with it.
