The hat of the King of Pop was sold during an event organized by Hotel Drouot auction house in Paris.

The initial estimate for the black hat, a landmark in music history, ranged from US $ 63,000 to US $ 105,000.

However, the enthusiastic fans took the bid far beyond everyone’s expectations, and the final amount paid for the iconic part of Michael Jackson’s wardrobe left onlookers speechless.

Michael Jackson wore the hat in 1983 at a Motown concert that was broadcast live on television and rocked the world.

He boldly took off the hat as he enthralled the crowd with his classic hit “Billie Jean,” setting the stage for an innovative performance. He did the moonwalk, an otherworldly dancing motion that put his name in the annals of music history.

Co-organizers of event Lemon Auction earlier gained popularity for their auction of a guitar that was broken by Noel Gallagher, an English guitarist, singer and song writer in Paris after a furious argument with his brother.
