MEXICO CITY/CIUDAD JUAREZ: The defense ministry of Mexico has said that it had flown 200 military personnel to the border city of Juarez to fight organized crime, days after the deadly prison riot led to the manhunt for escaped convicts.
They said that officials also sacked the director of prison from which at least 30 prisoners escaped.

Federal authorities have arrived to restore order, finding a “very important zone” in the state-run prison with drugs and money. Chihuahua’s government said that seven people had died during subsequent police clashes as a part of the hunt to find the escaped inmates. Two of the dead were police officers.
