ISLAMABAD: Hot and sultry conditions are expected across plains, while showers await Kashmir, Pothohar, Northeast Punjab, and Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as per the Met office forecast.

As we brace ourselves for the next twelve hours, the majority of plain areas in the country can anticipate scorching temperatures and oppressive humidity. However, a respite is in sight for regions such as Kashmir, Pothohar, Northeast Punjab, and Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where a welcome change will arrive in the form of rain accompanied by gusty winds and dramatic thundershowers.

Earlier today, the mercury levels in several major cities were monitored closely, revealing the following temperature readings: Islamabad and Quetta registered a comfortable twenty-five degrees Celsius, while Lahore and Peshawar experienced a slightly warmer twenty-eight degrees. Gilgit, nestled in the picturesque mountains, recorded a moderate twenty-four degrees, whereas the cool climes of Murree measured a pleasant seventeen degrees. Muzaffarabad, located amidst scenic surroundings, settled at a mild twenty-three degrees Celsius.
