ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department said on Monday that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, foggy conditions are likely in plain areas of Punjab in the morning hours.
According to the Met Office, the intensity of coldness has increased across Punjab and dense fog has covered the plain areas of the province. It said that dry weather will prevail in most parts of the country with cold and chilly weather engulfing northern parts of the country.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.
Weather in the last 24 hours
Most of the country saw dry weather during the last 24 hours. The northern regions of Pakistan experienced chilly weather. Rain fell in a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Maximum Recorded Temperature
According to the Met Office, a maximum of 8 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 13°C in Lahore, 21°C in Karachi, 8.5°C in Peshawar, 2.5 °C in Quetta, and 6°C in Gilgit.
Minimum recorded temperatures
The Met Office recorded the lowest minimum temperature of -5 degrees Celsius in Kalam -4 C in Ziarat,-3 C in Hunza, Skardu and Astore -2 in Bagrote and Kalat and -1 C in Malam Jaba.
