ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has predicted mainly dry weather in most parts of the country, while cold in the upper parts during the next 24 hours.
However, light rain-wind/thunderstorm/snowfall is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Minimum recorded temperatures
The Met Office recorded the lowest minimum temperature of -6 Celsius in Leh, -7 °C in Kalam, -02 °C in Gupis, -02 °C in Malam Jabba, and -01 °C in Skardu.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.
Weather and Air quality
As per the Air quality index (AQI), the air quality in Lahore is 181 US AQI, 153 in Rawalpindi, 197 in Faisalabad, 121 in Muridke, 114 in Sialkot, 93 in Mangla. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 178 US AQI, 152 in Mirpur Khas, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 113. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 170 in Peshawar.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a maximum of 19-degree Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 19°C in Lahore, 25°C in Karachi, and 18°C in Peshawar, 3°C in Quetta and 6.5°C in Gilgit.
