ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan MET office has forecast cloudy weather in most upper parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
However, rain and thunder are likely at isolated places in the Pothohar region, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Foggy conditions
During morning hours, foggy conditions prevailed over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
Synoptic situation
As per the synoptic situation, A shallow westerly wave is present over the western & upper parts of the country and likely to persist in the upper parts during the next 24 hours.
Air quality as per MET office in different cities in Pakistan
The air quality in the capital of Punjab, i.e., Lahore, is 223 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 234, 146 in Muridke, 181 in Rawalpindi, and 93 in Sialkot. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 176 US AQI, while in the Federal capital Islamabad, air quality stands at 152. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 318 in Peshawar and 764 in Abbottabad.
Recorded temperatures
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 9 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 16°C in Lahore, 21°C in Karachi, 7°C in Peshawar, and 4°C in Gilgit.
Minimum recorded temperatures
Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperatures (°C): Leh -10, Kalam -06, Gupis, Skardu, Kalat, Ziarat -03 & Malam Jabba -02.
