ISAMABAD: On the International Day of Democracy, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have reiterated their strong commitment to constitutionalism, democracy, and the rule of law in Pakistan.
They have emphasized the need to bolster democratic institutions and pursue essential reforms to further consolidate democracy in the country.
President Zardari highlighted the importance of a robust democratic process in addressing Pakistan’s current challenges.
He stressed that advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) could significantly enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency within public administration. AI’s potential to provide data-driven insights and make the democratic process more accessible to voters was also noted.
Zardari underscored the vital role of Pakistan’s Parliament in protecting democracy, addressing public grievances, and ensuring inclusive policymaking.
Prime Minister Sharif, in his message, reaffirmed his government’s dedication to democracy as a core value of human society. He stressed the unwavering commitment to uphold constitutionalism, the rule of law, and human rights, emphasizing that adherence to these democratic principles is fundamental for the nation. Sharif called for collective efforts to build a more inclusive and just world, asserting that strengthening the foundations of democracy will serve as a beacon of hope and progress for future generations.
