ISLAMABAD: The cold wind blowing in the country has forced the mercury to let fall to 1°C in Islamabad.
The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Wood, coal prices increase in Islamabad
The dip in mercury has surged the difficulties of people who were already facing problems like unannounced load shedding of gas, low gas pressure, as well as unavailability of electricity in the city. The prices of wood and coal have also increased in the city.
Today’s weather forecast
Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has forecast mainly dry and cold weather in most parts of the country, while very cold in Kashmir, Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan. Frost is predicted over plain areas of upper Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, and Kashmir during morning hours. Cold weather conditions are likely in plain areas.

The air quality in Lahore is 216 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 249, 164 in Muridke, and 163 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 191 US AQI and 173 in Mirpur Khas, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 98. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 198, while 61 in Abbottabad.
