SRINAGAR: Former Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti has highlighted the continuous humiliation faced by the Kashmiris under the BJP-installed administration.

Addressing a gathering of party members in the Chanapora area of Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti said that the Kashmiri society is being humiliated on a daily basis by BJP backed administration in the region.

She emphasized the immediate need for united action, she decried the growing assault on the rights and dignity of the people in the occupied territory.

Mufti expressed deep concern over the denial of basic necessities, such as electricity and employment opportunities, to the residents of occupied Kashmir.

Since the controversial revocation of the special status of the IIOJK in 2019 by repealing Article 370 of its Constitution, India has persistently propagated a misleading narrative of normalcy returning to the region. However, the ground reality contradicts these claims, with the security situation in the occupied territory deteriorating due to the Indian government’s inflexible approach.

The BJP-led Modi administration promised that revoking Kashmir’s special status would bring development and end violence in the region. However, these assurances have proven empty, and peace and prosperity remain elusive in IIOJK. The Kashmiri people and their leaders reject India’s assertion of normalcy in the region and strongly criticize the policies implemented by the Indian government in the occupied territory.
