ISLAMABAD: A large number of students have expressed their satisfaction with the restoration of the previous status of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The students termed the decision as a good omen for safeguarding the future of medical education in the country.

They said that during Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) era in the previous government, the medical students faced extreme stress due to inconsistency in policies.

Atif Kaleem, a medical student told APP that the students faced errors in the MDCAT exam system as even the answer keys were faulty, causing many brilliant students to suffer, but many failed students were declared as successful.

Thousands of students went abroad

He claimed that thousands of students took admissions abroad due to this situation.

Basit Khan, another medical student, said that PMC conducted entry tests through an external testing authority, which resulted in depriving 55 percent of Sindh students getting admission to dental and medical colleges. – APP
