RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military media wing on Wednesday expressed concern over the attacks on Pakistan army properties and installations following the arrest of Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9. ISPR stated that May 9 will be remembered as a dark day in Pakistan’s history.

In a press release, ISPR stated that immediately after the arrest of the PTI Chairman, organized attacks were carried out on army properties and installations, accompanied by the raising of anti-army slogans.

The release highlighted the dual faces of those involved, who on one hand exploit public sentiments for their own selfish goals while on the other hand, hypocritically emphasizing the importance of the army for the country.

Pakistan Army display extreme patience despite violence

The ISPR noted that despite these challenges, the Pakistan Army displayed extreme patience, tolerance, and restraint, prioritizing the wider interest of the country. The military successfully foiled attempts to provoke an immediate response that could be exploited for nefarious political purposes.

It was also revealed that the violent activities had a complete pre-planning behind them, orchestrated by some leaders within the party. The facilitators, planners, and political activists involved in these operations have been identified, and strict action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.

The ISPR warned that any further attack on the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies, military, or state installations and properties would be met with severe retaliation.

The release emphasized that the group behind these attacks aims to push Pakistan into a civil war and has repeatedly targeted the armed forces.

The ISPR firmly stated that no one would be allowed to incite people and take the law into their own hands. The military remains committed to maintaining peace, stability, and the rule of law in the country.
