DAMMAM, SAUDI ARABIA: Pakistan Women’s football team lost to Mauritius by 2-1 in the four-nation women’s football tournament played in Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan lost to Mauritius in the second clash after a thrilling contest at the Dammam.

After Mauritius took the early lead in the fourth minute via Jheemla Chiara, the Pak skipper Maria Khan equalized for her side in the ninth minute, scoring the only goal for Pakistan.

Mauritius took the lead in the 64th minute with a wonder strike from distance by Goapaul Juliemarie, in the second half.

Pakistan had the chance to equalise as they were given a penalty, but skipper Maria didn’t capitalize on the opportunity as she failed to convert it into a goal.

Pakistan women’s team would play their third match on January 19 against Saudi Arabia.
