ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has expressed regret over the stance of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who has opposed the proposed National Grand Dialogue.
The PPP leadership had proposed the dialogue as a way to address the current political crisis in the country. However, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called the dialogue unnecessary.
The PPP delegation has informed the party leadership about Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance, and they have expressed serious reservations about his position.
Despite this, the PPP has stated that they will not back down from the proposed National Grand Dialogue, as they believe it is the only way to address the crisis in the country.
The PPP believes that political rivals today could be allies tomorrow, and they argue that elections cannot be avoided forever.

They have emphasized that the current political situation requires flexibility and a willingness to negotiate.
In contrast, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has shown significant flexibility on the issue of negotiations.
The PML-N has not taken a firm stance on the proposed National Grand Dialogue, indicating that they are open to negotiations and willing to engage in dialogue.
The proposed National Grand Dialogue has become a controversial issue, with political parties holding different opinions on its feasibility and usefulness.
However, the PPP remains committed to the dialogue and is urging other political parties to join in, believing that it is the only way to address the country’s political crisis.
