GUJRAT: Taking a jibe at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership for accusing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of receiving relief and favors for the upcoming general elections, Senior Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz said she prays that no one faces the same challenges as her father, Nawaz Sharif faced.
During a party convention in Gujrat, Maryam Nawaz questioned the fairness of the playing field, referring to Nawaz Sharif’s years in exile and prison. The PPP, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has been actively advocating for equal opportunities for all political parties during the upcoming general elections.
Maryam highlighted the hurdles in Nawaz’s political journey, emphasizing the difficulties he faced during 11 years of exile and ongoing legal battles. She mentioned the emotional October 21 rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, where people expressed hope in Nawaz’s leadership despite challenges.
Bilawal Warns of Resistance if Nawaz Sharif “Selected”
In her address, Maryam criticized the fairness of justice delivery, noting the slow pace of Nawaz’s legal proceedings while facing accusations of favoritism. She also took a swipe at Imran Khan, without naming him, pointing out alleged contradictions in his actions and decisions.
Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto, addressing a rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commented on Nawaz’s potential fourth term, suggesting that if it happened through “selection,” neither he nor the nation would accept the results.
