LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Friday said that the federal government should take action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as it deals with a terrorist organization — and the time has passed to sit and talk with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz lashed out at the PTI chief for creating a “scene” at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore and said that the former prime minister announced a revolt against the state institutions.

Maryam Nawaz laments Imran Khan for using workers as shields

Maryam Nawaz lamenting the deposed premier for using masses and workers as shields said the nation was witnessing the drama created by Imran to avert his arrest and challenged the writ of the state by spreading chaos.

PTI workers, supporters, and police clashed for nearly 24 hours as Zaman Park virtually turned into a battleground. The law enforcement officials tried to get through supporters and arrest Imran Khan, who was ousted as the country’s prime minister in April last year.

Several people including police officials and PTI workers — were wounded in the process as the law enforcement agencies fired teargas and party supporters resorted to throwing Molotov cocktails.
