Staff Report
LAHORE: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz has landed in Lahore – the provincial capital of Pakistan’s Punjab province – with a task to reorganise PML-N ahead of the crucial elections for two provincial assemblies — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Maryam landed at the Allama Iqbal International Airpot in Lahore from Abu Dhabi after a brief delay in her flight.
Maryam Nawaz was in London since October to spend time with her father Nawaz Sharif.
Maryam Nawaz to lead election campaign
“Long live Pakistan,” Maryam Nawaz tweeted after landing. She said that she would utilise all her energy to strengthen PML-N.
In conversation with journalists, Maryam said that her father — who is in London since 2019 — would return to Pakistan very soon and he is preparing for it as well.
Amid tight security to avoid any untoward incident, the party workers in Lahore have prepared camps near the airport to welcome Maryam Nawaz, with senior leaders also in presence.
