Martyred Soldiers in DI Khan Attack Laid to Rest with Full Military Honours

RAWALPINDI: Naib Subedar Muhammad Farooq and Sepoy Muhammad Javed Iqbal of the Pakistan Army, who embraced martyrdom while thwarting a cowardly terrorist attack in DI Khan have been buried with full military honours in their native towns, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large number of senior officers of Pakistan Army, soldiers, families of martyrs and elders of the area attended the funeral prayer and burial of the martyrs.

The ISPR said these great sacrifices of the martyrs will no go in vain. It further said that the war against terrorism will continue until it is completely eradicated from the country.

According to ISPR, on the night of 15/16 July, terrorists carried out a cowardly attack on the Rural Health Center (RHC), Kirri Shamozai in Dera Ismail Khan district and opened indiscriminate fire on RHC staff.

However, during an intense fire exchange two soldiers of the Pakistan Army, Naib Subedar Muhammad Farooq (age 44 years, resident of Narowal district) and Sepoy Muhammad Javed Iqbal (age 23 years, resident of Khanewal district) paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom, ISPR stated.
