ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has rebutted news regarding the imposition of “emergency” in the country, local media reported on Friday. “The reports circulating in the media regarding the imposition of emergency in the country are baseless” and no such decision was taken in the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, she said in a news statement. She urged the media to verify the facts before airing or publishing any news.
Minister Refutes News Regarding Imposition of Emergency
Earlier, some sections of the media reported that the matter of imposing an emergency was discussed during the cabinet meeting, but allies of the coalition government rejected the proposal.
However, Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the news about the imposition of “emergency” in the country was baseless and termed such reports as baseless.
