MANIPUR: Former Union Minister Uma Bharti on Wednesday termed the incident of two women being paraded naked in Manipur an extremely shameful act for both the ruling party BJP and the opposition.
The BJP leader called out both the ruling party and the opposition, urging them to refrain from playing politics on such a sensitive issue and prioritize taking action against the culprits. During her stay at Vrindavan’s Geeta Ashram, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also questioned the role of the police in the shameful act. She highlighted the need for an inquiry into the role of the police during the incident. She emphasized that incidents like these should not come to light through social media but should be addressed promptly by the authorities.
Uma Bharti also spoke about the ongoing Gyanvapi case, stating that she has seen signs of a Hindu temple in the area and has personally worshipped Shringar Gauri. However, she refrained from commenting further, respecting the ongoing court proceedings.
