LONDON: Manchester United claimed their 1st trophy since 2017 with win over Newcastle United in the English Cup final on Sunday.

Casemiro broke the deadlock following 33 minutes when Brazilian star headed Manchester United Luke Shaw’s free kick. United doubled their advantage following Sven Botman deflected Rashford’s shot out of the reach of goal keeper of Newcastle Loris Karius, deputising for the suspended Nick Pope.
Newcastle tried to rally in the second half of the game, but could not produce the results. It meant United were back in the honors following last tasting success 6-year ago when lifting the Europa League under Mourinho.
Manchester United remain challengers on three other fronts in the current season.
