ISLAMABAD: The Indian propaganda movie “The Kerala Story” was exposed even before its release as critics questioned the veracity of the women’s number, who were forcibly converted to Islam and joined ISIS.

The movie teaser, released in November last year, said it was based on the heartbreaking and gut-wrenching stories of thirty-two thousand females in Kerala.

However, the critics questioned the magnanimity of the numbers, as many termed it an exaggeration.

After the controversy and calls for banning the movie from different circles, the filmmaker toned down the claimed number and reduced it to just 3.

Now, the movie’s trailer, which was released last week, says that the Kerala Story film is a compilation of true stories of 3 young girls from different areas of Kerala.

But, in a purported video from a screening in New Delhi’s Jawaharlal queries on the said figure, saying, “Do you think the figure matters? The thirty-two thousand number is an arbitrary figure based on facts.

The movie has been slammed by the state government, critics, Indian media and social media users.

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the film is to further India’s ruling party, BJP’s propaganda against Muslims. In a Facebook post shared on Sunday, he said that the purpose of the movie was to demonize Kerala State and to divide it along racial lines.

He further accused the moviemaker of threatening religious harmony and tolerance by sowing the seeds of communalism through the debunked claim that 32,000 females were abducted from India and handed over to ISIS.
