ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim wherein they discussed bilateral ties, the flood situation in Pakistan, and the upcoming global Conference on the Climate-Resilient Pakistan taking place on January 9, 2023, in Geneva.

Shehbaz Sharif’s felicitated Anwar Ibrahim on his election as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and also accepted Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan.
Both the leaders expressed satisfaction over the momentum of Pakistan-Malaysia friendly ties and both agreed on the importance of regular high-level exchanges to bilateral relationship and cooperation.
PM Shehbaz underscored Pakistan’s desire to forge a broad-based relationship with Malaysia with robust political dialogue and trade and economic linkages. Both the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the historic relationship between Pakistan and Malaysia anchored in strong economic and trade cooperation.
They also discussed a devastating climate-induced flood in Pakistan and the upcoming global Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan when the international community could come together to support Pakistan’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
