KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has reported 867 new Coronavirus cases as of midnight Sunday, bringing the national tally to 5,010,634, said the Malaysian health ministry.
Data released on the ministry’s website showed that there was one new imported case and 866 cases being local transmissions. Ten more deaths have been reported, raising the death toll to 36,763. The ministry also reported 1,313 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,955,150.
Malaysia active infections
There are 18,721 active cases in the country with 78 being held in intensive care units and 50 of those on ventilators. The country reported 862 vaccine doses administered a day earlier alone. Around 86.1 percent of the total population have received at least one dose, and 84.3 percent are fully vaccinated so far. Accoridng to the health officials, some 49.8 percent population have received the first booster and around 1.9 percent have received the second booster. — Xinhua/APP
