RIYADH: Deputy governor of Makkah, Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz is all set to perform the holy ritual of washing the Kaaba on behalf of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The ceremony of washing Kaaba was initiated by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him).
The President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, and senior officials would also take part in the cleaning ceremony of Kaaba on Wednesday.
The ceremony would start with the opening of Kaaba door by its gatekeeper after that the inside of the holy building will be washed with Zamzam water mixed with rose water. The participants would also offer prayer inside the Kaaba.
Earlier, at the start of the Islamic Year the cover of Kaaba, kiswa was replaced during a ceremony.
