BERLIN: An earthquake measuring 4.8 at the Richter Scale struck the Jordan-Syria border on Friday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
The depth of the quake was 10 km (6 miles), it said. The earthquake, felt by residents across Syria and Lebanon, that was revised from an earlier 5.2 magnitude.
Syria’s National Earthquake Center said the tremor was felt by residents of Salamiyah city in western Syria, where a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit late Monday, causing panic and dozens of injuries but no casualties.
