BARCELONA: The suspended president of Spain’s football federation Luis Rubiales has said that he will quit due to kiss scandal after the final match against England in the women’s World Cup final against England.

In an interview with a television, Luis Rubiales said he would tender his resignation as he cannot continue his work.
Earlier, Spanish football player Jenni Hermoso filed a legal complaint against the country’s football federation head, Luis Rubiales’s forced kiss after Spain’s victory in the Women’s World Cup against England, Spain’s prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday.
According to the country’s prosecutor’s office, Jenni Hermoso gave her evidence on the matter, and the legal petition will be processed immediately.
After the new development, Luis Rubiales could face criminal charges in addition to the current probe by Spain’s Sports Court for” misconduct” and an inquiry by FIFA, which has also suspended Rubiales from the post.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the nation’s women footballers “gave the entire world a lesson” by going on protest over federation head Luis Rubiales’ World Cup kiss.
The Prime Minister said that their players have won two times: first on the ground, and now in giving a lesson to the entire world, a lesson of equality between women and men. Spanish player Jenni Hermoso joined a mass protest of women players saying she did not consent to being kissed by the Rubiales after Spain’s win in the Women’s World Cup final against England.
