Age UK reports that millions of pensioners face Christmas alone as the cost of living increases
Ahead of Christmas, Age UK has reported that millions of pensioners are supposed to face Christmas alone as the cost of living has increased.
Most of them live abroad and none of them live near their home in Staffordshire.
This means Lichfield, Diana is one of more than half a million pensioners facing Christmas alone.

She told BBC that “I’m disappointed about it because I think when you grow up and feel like now any day could be my last Christmas or my last – you don’t want to realise that, but it’s true – and I want the family to be together. A lot,” he said.
“I will be sad. I will try to think about happy times with my family and hope that people call me. “
According to Age UK, around one in 20, older people go to Christmas without speaking to anyone.
They say the rising cost of living is forcing retirees to live alone, as one in four seniors say financial worries mean they will – reduce social activities.
