Lithuania Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Vows to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Egidijus Meilūnas has said that Pakistan and Lithuania should explore means to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation.

 

He expressed these remarks during an event in Pakistan. He said that he has held a very fruitful talks with Pakistan officials in Islamabad. The Minister said that they held discussion on various matters including economic and political affairs. He said that they also exchanged views over the ties between European Union and Pakistan.

 

The Minister added that the two sides also discussed the current regional situation and vowed to work for the protection of international law. He hoped that Lithuania will be a useful partner for Pakistan to cooperate in diverse sectors especially in economy and technology.

 

On the occasion, he expressed immense pleasure for the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Pakistan. Meilūnas further expressed happiness over the representation of Lithuania in Pakistan by Masud Khan, the Honorary Consul General, thanking him for his significant contribution to enhance Pakistan- Lithuania relations.

In his concluding remarks, Meilūnas wished that the next 30 years of cooperation between Lithuania and Pakistan to be successful, productive, and rooted in mutual respect and friendship. Pakistan’s former ambassador to US Senator Sherry Rehman and other former diplomats also attended the event.
