RIYADH: The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission of Saudi Arabia has inked an executive programme in collaboration with China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA).
The programme seeks to promote collaboration with China in translation, literature, and publishing, as well as the translation of important classic works of literature from Arabic into Chinese and vice versa, and their publication in both friendly nations.

The signing ceremony for this executive programme occurred during the Riyadh International Book Fair 2023, hosted by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission under the theme “Inspirational Destination” at King Saud University in Riyadh from September 28 to October 7.
The agreement was formally signed by Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, and Zhang Jianchun, representing the Chinese side as the Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
This programme is expected to facilitate cultural connections, enhance content, and bolster literary collaboration between the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission and China’s National Press and Publication Administration.
It is aimed at serving the sector and fostering cultural exchange between the people of Saudi Arabia and China. Furthermore, this programme underscores the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to promoting international cultural exchange, aligning with the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2023. —SPA/APP
