RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench on Friday ordered Rawalpindi police to register cases against those who blocked roads and national highways.
The high court said that cases should be registered against them and submit a report along with a record on November 16.
During the hearing of a plea against PTI’s sit-ins, the court expressed frustration and said that officials including police officers were sleeping while protesters blocked the road and caused inconvenience to the citizens
The city traffic police officer and SSP operations Rawalpindi also appeared in the court. The court expressed its displeasure at the late arrival of the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner.
The court asked the deputy commissioner to tell what action was taken against those who blocked the roads and highways. The court remarked that “you were sitting in the offices and the people were languishing on streets and roads were closed across the city.”
The court ordered the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner to submit a detailed report at the next hearing as what action had been taken against the protesters.
The court put off the hearing of the case till November 16.
