ISLAMABAD: In a rare incident, around four Asian leopards on Thursday evening made their way into Saidpur village on the outskirts of Islamabad and hunted a goat.

Saidpur village is situated near the protected area, where wild animals, including Asian leopards, are present.

According to the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB), security guards and its staff rushed to the spot to ensure the wild animals did not harm humans.

A small clip of the leopards’ intrusion into Saidpur village also made rounds on social media.

In the video, people could be seen jeering at one of the wild cats, which had devoured a goat in the village.

The IWMB said that the locals’ gathering to witness the scene was risky as the wild animal could attack humans in case of provocation.

The IWMB said that the leopards killed only one goat before they left behind the carcass over the jeering and noise of the locals.

The wandering animals fled into the jungle, an IWMB official said.
