LOS ANGELES: Leonardo DiCaprio bought himself a new property in Los Angeles, which just so happens to be the one next door.

Earlier this month, the Oscar-winning actor paid $10.5 million in an off-market deal for his neighbor’s residence in the Hollywood Hills’ exclusive Bird Streets.

Since the residence was never publicly listed, information about it needs to be made more transparent. It is situated on the northern property border of his opulent existing estate. According to listing records, the salmon-colored home was constructed in 1963 and is hidden away from the street among boxed hedges. It is more than 3,500 square feet and includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms. A large driveway and a pool can be seen in the aerial photos.

Leonardo DiCaprio bought home via limited liability company

The 48-year-old DiCaprio bought the home via a limited liability company connected to his cousin and longtime business partner Robert Hrtica. His previous interactions with his neighbors have not been smooth. According to The Hollywood Reporter, they filed a complaint in 2007 accusing DiCaprio of carelessness when he was constructing a basketball court, claiming the work caused their land to become unstable. In 2009, the lawsuit was resolved.

Records indicate that DiCaprio first moved in next door in the 1990s after buying a house from Madonna for $2.5 million. According to Dirt, who first reported the sale, his property now consists of five adjoining parcels totaling more than 5 acres. He sold a nearly 100-year-old Los Angeles house earlier this year for $4.9 million. In 2018, Mr. DiCaprio paid $4.19 million to buy Red Oak Manor from musician Moby. His spokesperson did not immediately answer an inquiry for comment.
