Islamabad— The Lahore College for Women University as a leading partner in the entrepreneurial consortium comprising of Virtual University of Pakistan and Fatima Jinnah Medical University have launched Khadija Tul Kubra Business Incubation Center in Lahore.
The business incubation center has been named after the first Muslim woman and wife of Holy Prophet (PBUH), who is a role model for all the business women, is being established under a HEC-funded PKR 40m project which was won by the ORIC office at LCWU.
Vice Chancellor LCWU Prof Dr Bushra Mirza speaking on inaugural ceremony stated that the purpose of this grant is to accelerate the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing women entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti said that now is an era of innovation, disruption and entrepreneurial passion and we have inculcated in the foundation of this business incubation center.
Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof Dr Khalid Masud Gondal stated that this consortium will help the country achieve its goals of sustainability and livelihood and become a seat of learning for the same for the entire Pakistan.
The consortium, will offer capacity-building training programmes, mentorship, and establish industry linkages to startups selected by BICs of the three respective member universities. The consortium will begin its recruitment drive soon, for its new cohort.
