LAHORE: Punjab Assembly has passed “The Layyah University Bill 2022” amid a strong protest and walkout of opposition from the provisional assembly session.

As per details, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Punjab, Raja Basharat, presented the bill in the assembly after the Speaker suspended the rules and allowed the treasury benches to table the bill. The opposition termed the provisional assembly proceedings illegal and unconstitutional, claiming that the bill was not included in the agenda. The opposition also demanded copies of the bill, but before the speaker could ask the treasury benches to provide bill copies to the opposition, they had already walked out of the house.
