ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department said on Wednesday that mainly dry and cold weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab during night and morning hours.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of the country.

The fog and smog weather continues to prevail in Lahore and its surroundings, due to which the citizens are facing severe problems. The air quality index in Lahore is currently above 400. Experts say that the smog will increase further.
Effects of smog
Locals have reported eye issues, allergies and a burning sensation in their eyes due to continual exposure to smog. Asthma patients are affected by it who have lung problems. People of all ages are affected by it.

Precautions
Smog experts say that assembly should not be held in schools in the morning. And schools should be closed for ten days. Don’t burn wood or trash. Avoid exercising outdoors. Use less energy in home.
Recorded temperatures
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met), a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 13°C in Lahore, 15.5°C in Karachi, and 8°C in Peshawar.
Minimum recorded temperatures
Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperature’s (°C): Leh -09, Skardu -06, Ziarat -05, Kalat -04, Astore, Hunza -03, Bagrote, Shopian, Pulwama, Gilgit, Kalam -02, Srinagar, Anantnag, Quetta and Baramulla -01.
