During the hearing, the Chief Police Officer of Rawalpindi sought an apology from the court.

It is to be noted that a day earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a suspension of Pervaiz Elahi’s detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, mandating his immediate release.

But shortly after his release from police custody, he was re-arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department in the judicial complex attack case.
