PESHAWAR: Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mansehra, Nayab Ramzan, set an example of performing her duty when she evacuated a widow’s plot from land mafia on the court’s decision. She handed over the plot to the woman who had been fighting for her property for previous 14 years.
Speaking to the media, ASP Nayab Ramzan said that the land had been given to the woman in her “Haq Meher” some 14 years before and that following her husband’s passing, the land mafia had taken possession of it, depriving the widow of her legal right.
She claimed that the Shinkyari police were called in and that the land was freed from the land grabbers and given to the widow in front of the tehsildar and patwari.
According to her, since women police are aware of the challenges that women in our society face, they can adequately address women’s issues. Upon the widow’s request and following the DPO Mansehra’s directives, she said the appropriate action was conducted.
ASP Nayab Ramzan remained on the scene throughout the land’s evacuation along with the widow and pursued the issue to its logical conclusion despite opposition from the opponents. On social media, many people praised Lady ASP’s actions.
DPO Mansehra, Zahoor Babar Afridi, has stated that hundreds of such disputes that had been pending for a while have been resolved in the Mansehra area. He claimed that a campaign against the land mafia was underway in the district, and numerous land speculators had already been detained.
