Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan Hold Bilateral Talks, Discuss Political, Diplomatic Ties

TASHKENT: Kyrgyzstan Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and his Uzbekistan counterpart Bahtiyor Saidov on Thursday held Political consultations.

During the delegation level meeting, they discussed bilateral relations including the implementation of previously agreed-upon commitments, and the enhancement of political and diplomatic collaboration.

Both sides emphasized the robust political ties and effective international cooperation between the two nations, underscoring the need for further improvements in diplomatic interactions.

Recognizing the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the delegations highlighted the significance of maintaining a strong Kyrgyz-Uzbek comprehensive strategic partnership based on historical friendship and mutual respect.

The Foreign Ministers praised the mutual support for global initiatives and joint contributions to international and regional agendas. Moreover, current issues in transport, logistics, water, energy, culture, and humanitarian affairs were addressed, with a focus on expanding the legal framework and consular cooperation.

At the end, the foreign ministers signed a corresponding protocol.
