MINSK: Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev on Thursday said that the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) should act as a united front on all matters.
According to Kamchybek Tashiev, the situation in the world is changing rapidly and it is vital to present timely responses.
He added that it is necessary to prevent discord between our nations. He strongly believed that the CIS states should act as a united front on all issues, especially on the security of our countries.
Minsk these days is hosting a summit of the heads of security and intelligence services of the CIS member states.
Earlier, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the heads of special services of the CIS countries on 14 December.
KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel earlier told media that such events would help the parties to discuss joint actions and share experience.
He went on to say the platform is very often used to discuss acute matters. He said CIS countries should find and implement appropriate solutions to ensure security in their states.
