TASHKENT: Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov embarked on an important visit to Uzbekistan, where he toured the renowned carpet factory Khiva Gilamlari as part of his official state visit. The factory, established in 1973, underwent extensive reconstruction and modernization in 2020.
President Japarov was accompanied by dignitaries and officials as he inspected the facilities of the factory, located in the historic city of Khiva. The factory holds a prestigious reputation for its production capabilities, specializing in the manufacturing of carpets and rugs.
According to reports, Khiva Gilamlari boasts an impressive production capacity, churning out approximately 4.2 million square meters of carpets and rugs annually. These high-quality products are exported to various international markets, including the United States, China, and CIS countries, contributing significantly to Uzbekistan’s export economy.
The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery sourced from leading manufacturers in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Turkey. This modern equipment underscores the factory’s commitment to producing carpets of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
Employment opportunities at Khiva Gilamlari are substantial, with approximately 750 skilled workers employed in various capacities across the factory. This workforce is pivotal in maintaining the factory’s operational efficiency and ensuring the production meets global standards.
